The Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) organized the 3rd Central African Forest Day in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo on the 28th of May 2011.
Cameroon has been actively involved in the REDD process since its inception in the UNFCCC COP negotiations in 2005. The country has made progress in terms of technical and organisational developments for the implementation of REDD.
The Republic of Congo has been active in the REDD negotiations along with the other countries in the Congo basin. GAF AG with the support of the Republic of Congo government will initiate a REDD Pilot Project in the country in 2009.
